- 9/1/2011 Buy One Get one Deals continue ...
In 2006 Seagate began experimenting with an occasional customer appreciation sale where we featured a product for a month on Buy 1 Get 1 free. The experiment was successful and we received many emails thanking us for doing these occasional deals.
However beginning in April 2008, as the extent of the downward spiral of the economy became evident, we began to rotate a different product on buy 1 get 1 each month, while leaving the olive leaf extract capsules on this deal. The olive leaf extract was chosen as a long-term buy 1 get 1 free because this was the one product that most customers have been using to keep themselves from getting sick. The theory being that by keeping you healthy helps save you money, which then allows for the purchase of a second or third product on this website or in your grocery store. This program has generated a lot of goodwill from our customers and our health food store distributors and has helped Seagate to maintain its sales growth despite the economy .... as people learn that it is a lot less expensive using these natural remedies to stay healthy than it is to get sick and pay doctors and drugstore co-payments (if you even still have your medical insurance).

- 9-1-2011 New Distribution Channels
Seagate's primary business is the distribution of its products to independent health food stores across the U.S. Currently there are approx. 2000 stores and clinics that buy from Seagate.
Beginning in 2005, Seagate began an effort to bring some of their unique natural remedies to new markets. This began with the establsihment of a distributor in Japan. In 2010, Seagate added a distributor in Singapore, who covers countries in Southeast Asia.
Between, 2006 and 2009, Seagate experimented with sales to Walgreens (Stop Rash), H.E.B in Texas (pediatric remedies), and Pathmark and A&P in the northeast. This experiment in selling to the mass-market was a waste of time and product. If you are not a large company like Johnson and Johnson, it is impossible to make a decent deal with the big chainstores. Therefore, we have decided to stay within the industry that has given us success -- the natural foods industry -- and continue to expand with the independent stores that are the backbone of this industry, and Whole Foods.

- 9/1/2011 New Product Under Development - Seagate Extra Virgin Olive Oil (in glass bottles)
Up until now, Seagate has been processing a very small amount of olive oil in our factory just for production in our softgel capsules. However due to many requests from customers and stores, we have been installing larger grinders, presses and filters in order to increase the production of Extra Virgin Olive Oil for bottling. We used the January- Feb. 2011 harvest of olives to experiment and test. The results have been excellent. We are now able to produce the highest grade of olive oil. It has a deep green color, and has the strong olive taste and odor. This is the quality of olive oil that you might find only in the finest restaurants in Italy. It is apparent that the Europeans reserve the highest grade of their production for local sales, while exporting to the U.S., the heated and chemically-treated lower grades. You will soon be able to experience real olive oil once we begin production this winter.

- 9/1/2011 Free internet shipping on Seagate web orders
Beginning in July of 2008, with the spike in gas prices, Seagate decided to experiment with different methods to make it easier for our customers to shop on this website. As the economy has gone into a full-scale retreat, Seagate decided to continue this program of free internet shipping (ground-only within the 48 States) to help our customers and keep our orders flowing smoothly. Just enter code 708 in the promotional box before checking out. Customers that fail to use this code cannot go back and add it later once the checkout button has been clicked. This program has resulted in a large increase in Seagate's internet orders and therefore is likely to continue until the economy recovers.
